The Welsh Residence
We were thrilled that the Geelong Advertiser's GT Magazine ran a story on the Batesford property we designed for the Welsh family.
Highlights from Suzie Coffey's article are as follows:
'Simone Welsh doesn't even hesitate when asked what she loves most about her Batesford home'.
'Whilst it could be the designer kitchen with separate butler's pantry or even her glamorous dressing room, Simone insists it is, in fact, simply the feeling she gets from spending time in the house'.
'The scenic outlook over the surrounding hills offers a tranquil location while the home, with its soaring ceilings and stunning mix of materials, adds an element of luxe'.
'The level of sophistication is evident from the outset. A spectacular rammed earth feature wall at the home's entrance sets the scene for what is to come.'
'The feature has been carried through into the home's interior including in a front sitting room as well as the main living space'.
'Black oxide was used to give the rammed earth that beautiful colour', Simone said.'
Mrs Welsh is also quoted as saying, 'Everything looks like it is in a picture frame. All the beautiful windows do a great job of framing it'.
